ABOUT ME

My name is Niamh and I am a birth doula in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

I am passionate about supporting families to empower themselves for a confident and positive pregnancy and birth experience.

This passion was ignited with the birth of my first daughter. It was then fueled by the extremely positive birth of my second daughter when I had the support of a doula and the confidence to trust myself.

Every parent deserves to be fully informed and feel respected in the decisions they are making for themselves in pregnancy, during birth and beyond. I want to be your sounding board, your advocate and your safe space in this precious period of your life.

Education and support are invaluable to getting off to a positive start on your parenthood journey.

Contact me for a free informal chat to find out more and to see if we are a good fit. I would love to have coffee and cake or we can do this online if that works best for you.

MY TRAINING

DOULA TRAINING

Doulas of Northern Ireland, 2023

I was motivated to take the leap and pursue formal doula training when Doulas of Northern Ireland announced a local, in-person training in 2023. This covered not only a wealth of information about pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period but offered a valuable insight into the maternity system here in Northern Ireland. This knowledge and the contacts met through the training will allow me to help clients to navigate the system and pursue the birth experience they deserve.

MOVEMENT FOR BIRTH WORKSHOP

Essentially Birth, October 2023

This fantastic training covered a more in depth look at the physiology of birth and how to explain it's mechanics to a birthing person. I expanded my knowledge on techniques for comfort during labour including positioning, movement and rebozo techniques.
